Growing up, I LOVED Cracklin' Oat Bran! Those tiny, sweet Os were amazing! But, they were also expensive! For a few years, I took full advantage when they were readily available in the college dining hall.
Today a small box of Cracklin' Oat Bran costs $5. A bag of oat bran costs about the same, but it features less calories, less sugar, it's gluten free, and you can make twice as many servings! (Ok- Cracklin' Oat Bran says 8 servings, but no one is only eating 3/4 cup!)
Oat bran is my favorite, quick and easy breakfast! It can be made start to finish in just 5 minutes! Plus, this recipe is super easy to adjust for plenty of flavor options!
No, oat bran and oatmeal are not exactly the same. Oat bran is the outer shell of the oat groat seed, while oatmeal is the flattened full oat groat. Oat bran is smaller and cooks more quickly. It's also higher in fiber and protein!
1 Tbsp. sweetener
1 Tbsp. peanut butter
1/3 c. oat bran
1 scoop of protein powder
2/3 c. milk
You can make this ahead, but since it only takes 5 minutes from start to finish- there's no reason! Prepared oat bran can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the microwave.
With this 5-Minute Peanut Butter Oat Bran, you can start your day off right! Lightly sweetened oats and creamy peanut butter packed with protein and fiber!
