Christmas day is mostly about sitting around, eating, and drinking. Sure, there are some presents thrown in there too, but we all know what it’s really about.
Ok, it’s slightly less of a food holiday than say Thanksgiving, but there’s SO MUCH food. Plus, at least in my family, Christmas lasts quite a bit longer than a lavish turkey dinner.
So, in addition to food, there are lots of drinks. And yes, water is always a terrific option; but, it is nice to have something else to sip on. This punch is not as sweet as say, Hawaiian punch, but it has a lot more enjoyment and flavor than seltzer. It’s a healthier punch or a sweeter, fruitier bubbly water. Somewhere in-between. I don’t usually like to drink my calories.
This cranberry punch is very simple to make and can easily accommodate both children and adults. For the adults, this would also pair very well with some champagne or a little rum or vodka.
Ready, set, pour.
You can find a number or varying recipes, but cranberries, with their deep red hue, are likely involved. You will find a citrus- orange, lemon, or lime. And maybe some soda or seltzer. For adults, this may also include, sparkling wine, champagne, or liquor.
If there's soda, after 2 to 3 days it may start to lose its fizz. You could also make a holiday punch starter- a more concentrated mixture of fruit and/or juice, where guests would add their own soda, liquor, etc. This should last in the fridge for 5-6 days.
For a festive red drink everyone will love- this easy holiday cranberry punch will please both kids and adults!
