Grapes can be used to make a wide variety of items you're seen- juice, salad, wine, jam, jelly, sorbet... But, grapes are also great in a number of dishes you've likely never even thought of- salsa, tarts, cakes, stuffing, and even roasted in an air fryer. Most recipes call for grapes to be roasted in the oven, but an air fryer makes the process even faster and easier.
Crostini is a fun appetizer to serve. They are small and simple, but look fancy! Fancy like Applebee's...
Ok, even classier than that!
And, there are so many varieties!
We know grapes are very sweet, but when roasted, they become slightly caramelized. I would consider this dish to be both savory and sweet. Keeping the rest of the ingredients simple makes the grapes the star of the show. Their flavor is beautifully complemented with cream cheese and just a little lemon zest.
Crostini is Italian for "little toasts." These small cuts of bread are brushed with olive oil, toasted, and then topped with something savory or sweet. Bruschetta is very similar. It comes from an Italian word meaning "to roast over coals." Typically prepared from a wide rustic loaf of bread that is also toasted with olive oil, it is most often prepared with tomatoes and basil.
I roasted the grapes in an air fryer, which only takes about 6-7 minutes. You can also use the oven. Drizzle grapes with a little oil and salt. Then, roast at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
With 4 simple ingredients, you can impress all of your friends with this yummy gluten free roasted grape crostini!
