Philly Cheesesteak Sheet Pan Nachos

For a fun, Philly-style spin on Nacho Night, these cheesesteak nachos make a delicious appetizer, snack, or even dinner! Enjoy thinly sliced steak, peppers, onions, and cheese piled over tortilla chips and then lightly broiled.

Cheesesteak nachos are quick and super simple to prepare. First, you need to prepare your steak. It’s very difficult to thinly slice your own- so, I recommend buying them frozen. I was concerned that some brands may contain fillers, but was pleasantly surprised to find beef was the only ingredient! And, they’re so thin, they will cook in 2-3 minutes or less!

Now, you can lightly sauté the veggies or leave them raw- this is a matter of preference and totally up to you! Then, we just need to assemble our nachos and broil for a few minutes. That’s it! Then, it’s time for snacking!

Instead of simply tortilla chips and cheese, these nachos are also loaded with steak for protein and veggies! And, as much as I LOVE cheese, these nachos are not dripping with grease. A fun plate of nachos you can feel pretty good about eating!

Best cheese for nachos?

Cheddar cheese is a classic choice, with a mild flavor that melts well. It also pairs very well with most dishes. I prefer sharp cheddar for more flavor. Any cheese you enjoy, that melts well, will work- cheddar, colby, provolone, mozzarella, or even pepper jack for a spicy kick. Some people prefer liquid cheese, aka queso, for nachos. So many choices!

What’s on a traditional Philly cheesesteak?

A Philly cheesesteak is a sandwich or sub featuring thinly sliced steak with cheese and onions. Cheez-whiz is actually the most authentic cheese; however, you will also find American or provolone. Sometimes, cheesesteak is also served with bell peppers and tomato sauce.
